Help for users of CoreFiling's taxonomy review product.

Getting an account and accessing TRAX

You must register to use TRAX: please see TRAX registration.

Once you have a username and password, you can use the form on the left of this page to log in to TRAX.

This form is available throughout the Collaborate section of this site: just visit us and choose the Collaborate section from the top menu.

Navigating and using TRAX

TRAX provides two fundamental views: the Review Space and the home page for each taxonomy available for review.

Before logging in to TRAX, please read What is Trax for an overview of the product.

Understanding Review Space

Review Space is your home in TRAX. From Review Space, you can:

  • See the comments that have been posted.
  • Work with the issues assigned to you and see how others have commented.
  • Access the taxonomies available for you to review.

Review Space:

TRAX is navigated from the left pane, Review Groups.  Each folder contains a number of groups: in this case, the author's test folder includes three taxonomy review groups. Each group contains links to show the comments, documents, uploads and edits for that group. "My Issues" allows you to see how the issues assigned to you are progressing and "Members" lists your colleagues in the group.

You can also see the comments for all your groups by using the links at the top level, in this case, just below "Steven's Groups".

Finally, "Home Page" takes you through to review a taxonomy.

Reviewing taxonomies

Hit "Home Page" for the taxonomy you want to review: you will be shown a list of jurisdictions and their taxonomies. Select a taxonomy and you will see this view:

A sample view of IFRS:

The pane on the left shows the taxonomy's presentation hierarchy.  In the case of IFRS, this includes balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements acounting policies and so on. Browse the tree and select a concept to view it in the right pane.

In the case above, we have selected assets.  The page shows all the information from the taxonomy from labels, references and properties through to calculations. Scroll down to view the aggregation for a concept.

An aggregation:

You can search too.  Just type in the box at the top of the right pane and hit return. If you want to narrow your search, Advanced Search allows you search just among labels, references or any number of supported XBRL terms.

Adding comments

When you find a feature of the taxonomy you want to comment on, just hit the yellow seed icon to the right of each feature as shown in the aggregation above and type your comment into the pop-up.

Commenting:

When you submit your comment, an email will be broadcast to the group and your comment will appear in the taxonomy view. You may need to refresh the page to see the new comment.

Collaborating on taxonomy review

When you comment, an email is sent to the group: people do not have to log in to see activity. If you want to reply to a comment, you can just reply to the email.

Alternatively, you can log in to review space or the particular taxonomy and post your reply there. Over the course of taxonomy review, you will find comment threads develop in all views in TRAX; just comment wherever you feel most comfortable and all views will update when refreshed.

When you find a thread in the taxonomy, hit any of the comments to see the thread in detail.
