The perfect taxonomy: is it possible? Join experts from FASB and Banque de France to find out.
Thursday 28 September, 2pm BST
New and updated taxonomies are released all the time, but with taxonomy errors on the rise, new releases often create more questions than answers:
- Publishing error-free new and updated taxonomies should be a given, so why doesn’t it always happen?
- How can we avoid the disruptions, the added cost and the sheer inconvenience caused by an incorrect or incomplete taxonomy?
- Why are the remedial actions sometimes just as disruptive as the problems they solve?
- How can we create an environment that allows efficient and trouble-free reporting, for both filers and regulators?
Join our panel of experts and learn how taxonomy publishing can go wrong and the effects that can have on filers and agencies. You’ll learn about the measures and actions that regulators and filers can take to address these issues and to create a trouble-free reporting environment.
XBRL Round Table
Thursday 19 July, 9.30am BST
As part of the Lab’s Digital Future project, we will be holding a roundtable on the 19th of July looking at XBRL. We want to explore how XBRL and tagging more generally might support a future digitally enabled a system of corporate reporting using the Lab’s Digital Reporting Characteristics as a basis for discussion.
Ian Hicks from the XBRL best practice board will also explore how the XBRL community can build relationships across the reporting ecosystem. He will also engage attendees in discussions to understand which other technology-enabled initiatives need to be supported to allow XBRL to meet its full potential.
